Finished sock!

Finished sock!

Okay so it’s only one sock, but it’s beautiful! I love it! The picture doesn’t do the orange justice, it’s in between bright pumpkin and burnt orange, its lovely:

I love it! Did I say that already?;) my first sock… I’m addicted to socks now. I want to start my fingerless gloves with my blue KK loom now, but I must finish the socks mate first! Question: how do you prefer your socks? More thick and squishy or thin and airy? Answer in the comments! I prefer thick and squishy, but then again my feet are always chilly. Here in Columbus, it was 90 degrees 2 days ago, and it’s down to 65 the last 2 days. Cripes! I gotta go hunt down a good Jean jacket for my scarf and knit up a hat and gloves…now where did I put all this extra money? Oh yeah, college. I guess it’s goodwill for a jacket and walmart for yarn for the next few weeks. Wish me luck on my hunt for some cheap school supplies! I start school in less than 2 weeks. College? Yikes! Let me just go hide under a rock for awhile and try to live a little more before I get all tied down with homework again…until next sock is done, goodbye all!

FO!

FO!

My new scarf is finito! Ignore my no makeup face, I didn’t feel like it today:

I love it! It came out exactly right. I bound off using the crochet method (though I don’t really know how to crochet), and then added the tassels. I love it! Now on to my socks! I will post pictures of my socks when I get a decent amount done on them. Wish me luck! Question: what is your favorite cuff on a sock? I’m doing a k2, p2 around, but I’m looking for more interesting patterns. Answer in the comments section, if you please:) bye for now, knitting world!

So excited!

So excited!

Lame title, I know I know, but I’m so excited! I’m the majority of the way through my Gryffindor scarf! YAY! This is so exciting, my first scarf of the looms:) but I’m excited to be done with this scarf, because I just picked up a sock loom and I’ve never even attempted socks on needles, so this will be a new adventure to conquer! Haha! Here’s a pic of the scarf:

I have been using the e-wrap stitch, or the twisted knit. I like the e-wrap for a few reasons, the main one being that it is flexible and doesn’t bind my neck, as a thicker scarf would. It kinda stinks that I’m so tall, because all of the things I knit for myself take more yarn and more time! RAWR! I know what some of you are thinking, gee, I would love to be tall, what the heck is she complaining about?! But being tall kinda does stink, especially when I’m clothes shopping. The shirts and jeans are too darn short almost all the time! ACK! But then again, I wouldn’t want to be short either. I like being able to see over crowds really easily:) anyways, I’m going to finish this scarf in a few hours and then move onto my socks! I bought some really pretty multicolored Deborah Norville Serenity sock weight yarn. Here’s a picture of it:

Does anyone know a place in Columbus that sells good quality yarn? Don’t get me wrong, Michaels and JoAnns are great, but they just don’t have a great selection of cashmeres and merino wools, which I want for scarfs and mittens. For my scarf now, I’m using Red Heart Super Saver, and while it is okay yarn, it’s a bit itchy. Has anyone else noticed that some Red Heart Super Saver colors are softer than others? Well, I have. The burgandy in my scarf is rougher than the gold, which is softer. It’s odd. Has anyone else run into this problem? Let me know in the comments section so I don’t think its just me! Well, I’m back off to knitting loom land, I’ll be looking forward to some comments tomorrow! Please, I don’t want to feel like my posts are going into internet oblivion and not being read by anyone, I would feel like I’m just talking to myself. Knitters, knitters, everywhere, but not a needle in sight? That’s me:) Thanks knitters!
